Community Support Worker Certification Program Summary
The Community Support Worker Program is an unemployment training program that will train and certify unemployed persons to be Community Support Workers who work with people with developmental disabilities.
The Community Support Worker Program is a combination of 5 courses that produces 200 hours of training and certification for participants.
Community Support Workers (CSW) work with people with developmental disabilities and provide outreach and family support as their clients find employment, live independently in their communities, participate in recreation and leisure activities, grow personally and professionally. There currently is a significant shortage of Community Support Workers in many communities across BC.
